Position: Data Scientist

Responsibilities:
· Monitor reserve trends monthly across GAAP, statutory, and tax bases
· Develop management reporting for existing business
· Prepare Statutory Annual and Quarterly Statements
· Update valuation models; organize results for management
· Support external audits by gathering data and conducting analyses
· Assist in rate-setting and non-guaranteed elements (NGE) analysis, signoff, and implementation
· Track product experience and adjust assumptions for emerging risks
· Support cross-functional product development initiatives
· Oversee product illustrations and support Customer Service on escalations
· Build relationships with internal and external distribution stakeholders
· Manage projects to drive progress on key initiatives
· Design new products with Pricing Actuaries and lead education on product goals
· Manage pricing risks, profitability, and scenario analyses
· Coordinate product implementation across teams
· Develop reinsurance RFPs, analyze treaties, and liaise with reinsurers
· Handle certifications for regulatory submissions and contract language reviews
· Ensure accurate product setup in the administration system and validate test cases
· Generate monthly business monitoring reports and analyze trends
· Prepare and process monthly crediting rate packages
· Coordinate with ALM and Systems on data analysis
· Support annual Illustration Actuary testing and special requests
· Contribute to product-related projects and requests
· Build and validate model inputs for financial projections
· Execute and monitor projections, troubleshoot as needed
· Analyze model outputs for accuracy
· Update quarterly stress test results vs. risk appetite
· Monitor investment portfolio for compliance with guidelines
· Track asset-liability duration mismatches
· Prepare weekly hedging files and monitor results
· Assist in competitive and performance benchmarking
· Assess reserve reasonableness for new business acquisitions
· Determine strategies for acquired product features
· Drive efficiencies with programming solutions for data management
· Support Own Risk and Solvency Assessment development
· Evaluate alternate investment strategies
· Serve as SME for actuarial data warehouse and cross-functional support
· Develop optimization macros for hedging improvements
Qualifications:
ASA or near ASA
3+ years of insurance actuarial experience. Modeling, analyzing, reporting experiences preferred.
