Position: Data Engineer / Data management

Responsibilities:
· Design the architecture of applications and tackle technical hurdles to craft functional and efficient business analytics solutions.
· Utilize modern technologies, numerical, and mathematical methods to optimize applications for speed, cost-effectiveness, and convenience.
· Ensure efficient utilization of cloud infrastructure, particularly Azure.
· Conduct code review and uphold code quality standards.
· Maintain consistent coding standards and take ownership of code business logic.
· Collaborate with software engineers in the Tech&Data organization to align with company’s IT landscape.
· Coordinate testing efforts with other business analysts and IT professionals.
· Develop solutions for data-driven business insights and advanced analytics, including machine learning, and support automation initiatives in insurance.



Qualifications:

· 3+ years of experience in software development and data management.
· Proficient in statistical programming with a basic understanding of actuarial concepts. 
· Insurance / reinsurance experience an asset
-	Actuarial background desired
· Knowledgeable in data models and designs, proficient in developing and executing SQL, Python, and R scripts on complex data models.
· Familiarity with R or Python and data visualization packages.
· Experience with Databricks platforms an asset
· Applying data science technologies in business is desirable.
