Responsibilities:
Evaluate and execute new acquisition/growth opportunities as well as develop and implement strategic alternatives important to the Senior Management Team, the shareholders and the board of directors
Lead the development of detailed financial evaluations and models such as acquisition/merger, valuation, synergies, returns analysis, and various other ad hoc analyses
Lead the transaction execution process, including the coordination of internal working groups and external advisors, due diligence / documentation / closing, and post-merger integration
Develop various presentations to the SMT and the Board of Directors
Oversee industry research and develop sector, segment, and company deep dives to support company strategic objectives
Develop and maintain productive relationships across the organization and with industry and professional networks.
Qualifications:
-BBA or BSc with either a recognized accounting designation (CPA), Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) or MBA.
-Relevant experience in complex corporate environments; experience includes Corporate Development, Private Equity, or Advisory Services. Industries preferred include Insurance, Financial Institutions, or General Business within matrix model
-Proven direct end-to-end acquisition execution experience is required
-Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills
-Strong communication and presentation skills with experience in interacting with senior level management
-Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple high priority tasks
-Demonstrable strong project management skills
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
-Bilingualism is considered an asset
