Responsibilities:
-Complete actuarial analyses including reinsurance pricing studies, portfolio analysis and research projects. Lead projects/analyses requiring multiple resources including those who are not direct reports.
-Create and deliver actuarial presentations and present results/topics to clients (internal & external) and management.
-Lead the modification and enhancement of existing applications to address special issues. Coordinate and help focus and prioritize the use of actuarial resources for tasks that are assigned.
-Lead the completion of required data preparation, including data input. Identify data & operational issues requiring specialized actuarial attention and take action to address them.
-Document and communicate assumptions, technical issues, results and alternatives to actuarial staff and internal and external clients.
-Direct and lead in developing new methodologies, products and procedures.
-Peer review actuarial work and provide constructive feedback.
-Provide leadership in the training of others (underwriters, client managers, risk analysts, accountants and actuaries) regarding actuarial analyses and methodologies.
-Manage the work for those who are not direct reports including other actuaries, programmers and support staff, as needed.
Qualifications:
-Ten or more years of (re)insurance/actuarial experience.
-Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, Statistics or related field requiring modeling, programming, or quantitative analysis.
-Membership in the Casualty Actuarial Society and membership in the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) or a minimum of 6 years of experience as an ACAS.
-Enhance and maintain a high level of technical actuarial skills and concepts along with organizational and project management skills.
-Strong interpersonal skills. Develop an environment which promotes good interpersonal relationships between co-workers. Ability to influence and negotiate with others at all levels and create acceptance for proposals.
-Effective oral and written communication skills. Excellent oral & written communication skills. The ability to effectively communicate technical issues to non-technical people (both internal & external).
-Good time management skills and organizational skills including the ability to manage conflicting priorities, complete multiple tasks and projects.
-Strong knowledge of (re)insurance & products, financial metrics used in insurance and industry data sources. Maintain a strong knowledge of industry sources of information and market environment.
-Ability to be innovative and decisive in order to develop unique and more advanced solutions to technical problems.
-Coordinate and manage multiple tasks and projects. Strong organizational, project management and people skills are imperative to effectively manage workload demands.
-Strong company knowledge including broad relationships throughout the organization. Ability to collaborate with peers across the international organization.
-Ability to apply judgment and problem solving skills to address different, complex and high profile issues. Makes non routine decisions. |
