Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute global strategy for Underwriting and Business Development to drive profitable growth.
- Identify market opportunities, including potential target markets, segments and clients.
- Develop and implement strategic, global market management tools.
- Develop and implement global guidelines for improved Underwriting efficiency and accuracy.
- Market Insight and Reporting.
- Develop and maintain a current and comprehensive client and industry segment insight.
- Deliver relevant market and competitor insight to the business.
- Lead new product development opportunities.
- Positively represent the company internally and externally to the market.
- Proactively build long term relationships with key client and broker contacts.
- Proactively develop relationships with other functions, particularly those within policy life cycle.
- Interface into the company products Relationship Management.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 15+ years client facing underwriting within several markets including the USA.
- University degree in one or more of the following areas: Actuarial, Insurance, Underwriting, Finance.
- At least 7 years’ previous experiences in Market Management.
- Proven leadership abilities.
- Specialized understanding of the products and market environment.
- Specialized understanding of insurance markets and competitor landscape is mandatory.
- Evidence of entrepreneurial behavior impacting positively on strategy and results.
- Experience in working in complex, global matrix organization.
- Proven business generation abilities.
- Fluency in Business English, additional European Languages is a plus.
- Ability to develop innovative solutions in a fast changing environment; ability to communicate strategies to address market trends or changes in the business environment.
- Ability to implement credit analysis and other methodologies to develop market, competitor, and client insight.
- Ability to define segmentation and client differentiation strategies; ability to define clear value proposition
- Evidence of entrepreneurial behavior impacting positively on strategy and results.
- Advanced Communication & Presentation: Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally. Ability to sell an improvised or prepared audience winning story.
- Ability to develop and positively influence key, strategic position holders across locations and functions.
- Transactional expertise in negotiating, structuring and executing complex insurance and other financial transactions.
