- Leads a team that will execute inforce management functions, including all nonguaranteed element rate setting on core individual life insurance business.
- Oversee all aspects of complex customer support, ensuring that the company’s inforce block is administered consistently with product design expectations and legal and compliance requirements.
- Directs the design and development of new approaches to inforce management to drive industry-leading innovations and differentiation in the marketplace.
- Collaborates with marketing and distribution leadership to position solutions in an open and easy-to-understand manner, consistent with enterprise goals.
- Partners with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency between investment philosophy and Product/Pricing objectives.
- Serves as a key contributor to the risk management process, identifying and analyzing potential impacts to risk management programs, product pricing, business mix, and assets under management.
- Proactively partners with senior management to develop and implement appropriate policies and practices to mitigate risk.
- Liaises with industry workgroups, internal and external legal teams, consulting firms and/or regulatory authorities to influence and advise on evolving practices and approaches.
- Represents the company and conducts presentations at industry meetings and customer events to promote inforce management practices and philosophy.
- Leads team to monitor developments in the financial landscape and regulatory environment applicable to company operations and/or actuarial science.
- Directs analysis of competitive intelligence, market research, and industry patterns; provides guidance to team on how to apply actuarial practices in novel ways without precedent.
- Guides and evaluates departmental performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards for the inforce business.
- Provides thought leadership and functional expertise to internal/external stakeholders for his/her assigned area/s of responsibility.
- Provides highly specialized expertise and thought leadership to develop and lead strategies to expand inforce management through innovative initiatives.
- Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for the inforce business, assesses the impact, and collaborates with executive/senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies.
- Leads the identification, development, and implementation of strategic process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality across the team, business unit, and/or the organization for the inforce business.
- Contributes to business unit/operational and enterprise strategy creation.
- Leads/executes approved strategy.
- Ensures that top talent is hired and retained.
- Provides training and development opportunities, for team members and gives honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent.
- Develops and fosters an environment that empowers team members to make decisions and take calculated risks in order to obtain goals and objectives in accordance with business needs and timelines.
- Leads and enhances organizational initiatives.
- Directs, establishes and implements priorities, performance goals and objectives to ensure departmental results for the Life Insurance Inforce Team.
- Builds organizational capability.


- 4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- ASA required, FSA preferred.
- 12+ Years of actuarial experience with insurance industry experience directly aligned to the specific responsibilities for this role, incl. 5+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership expectations /Required.
- Progressively responsible experience in the insurance industry, including demonstrated product management experience.
- 3+years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience including influencing senior management/critical stakeholders experience.
- A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations.
- Possesses a bias for action and avoids workplace distraction.
- Drives performance targets to completion.
