Responsibilities:
- Consultants meet client needs by spending significant time interacting with clients and effectively building client relationships
- Accurately diagnose client problems, develop project proposals, refine project strategy, outline a project plan, manage internal resources, and present the results to the client
- Spend significant time on staff development and providing leadership for project teams
- Work toward developing their own client base and securing new client business / leads
- Within a project team, consultants, project managers, and analysts coordinate their efforts to deliver client reports and deliverables
- Responsible for building relationships with clients, directing projects, and presenting results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)
- 7+ years in health actuarial experience at a consulting firm or health insurance company is required
- Experience with developing or reviewing Medicare Advantage or Prescription Drug Plan bids Thorough understanding of Microsoft Excel and actuarial concepts
- Experience mentoring staff and managing projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Dynamic people skills with the desire to develop a successful client base through networking, writing articles, speaking engagements and other marketing methods
- Ability to help identify client issues and resources needed to solve problems
- Analytical thinking and the ability to evaluate analyses for client communications
- Ability to help plan projects, identify project deliverables, meet deadlines, and ensure compliance with quality procedures
- Client focused and results oriented
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
