Responsibilities:

-Risk Management:
-Establish, implement and maintain an effective risk management framework, policies and processes that are well understood and followed by management.
-Establish and roll out operating guidelines consistent with company standards and have management implement a process to ensure compliance.
-Establish and roll out Malaysia operating guidelines and ensure that management implements a process to comply with these guidelines. Partner with management to ensure compliance to the Risk Management Policies and attest annually on policy compliance to the Risk Management Committee and CRO, Asia. Monitor related processes to ensure that all identified gaps in management’s risk management processes are resolved on a timely basis.

-Facilitate development and improvement of risk management know-how, tools, methodologies and systems.
-Independent risk review and assessment on products, projects, assets, capital, investment and group-wide business activities.
-Supervise and develop risk management personnel in line with immediate objectives and long-term plans.
-Risk reviewer for business/insurance/compliance risk.
Independent review of excel models used by Finance, Investment, Actuarial Pricing and Valuation
-Risk Management Reporting:
-Liaise with Regional Risk Management to ensure accurate and timely communication and reporting.
-Ensure that risk-based measurement and reporting metrics, including risk limits and exception reporting, are established and that a “Key Risk Identification Process” is implemented to support management in identifying and managing key risks faced by the organization.
-Provide documented quarterly status updates on Key Risks to the Risk Management Committee and CRO, Asia, and communicate emerging risk issues, as well as potential and actual breaches of Risk -Management policies to the Risk Management Committee and CRO, Asia. Identify and escalate as appropriate any missed target dates for key risk action plans.
-Asset / Liability Management (ALM):
-Chair the ALM working group.
-Ensure proper ALM practices are in place.

Qualifications:

-3 -5 years of experience as a qualified actuary. 
-About 8-10 years of experience in total. 
-Minimum 3-5 years of experience in risk management, including 2-3 years dealing with financial risks.  
-Experience with operational risks would be an asset.  Experience with financial risks is a must.
-Actuarial principles & practice in life insurance environment.  
-Knowledge of risk regulatory framework.
-Good communication skill - must be able to communicate effectively both internally with all levels of management and external parties.
-Good interpersonal skills.
