Responsibilities:

-Facilitate the placement of intercompany reinsurance: 
-Perform underwriting due diligence, transfer pricing reviews, pro-forma capital computations and risk transfer analytics.  Develop documentation to evidence analysis, including: compliance with internal policies, achievement of profitability criteria and capital requirements.  
-Issue recommendation of basis for acceptance to the Chief Operating Officer
-Support the structuring of reinsurance solutions designed to fit specific needs and Group optimization initiatives.  
-Provide guidance on reinsurance matters. 
-Conduct pricing and contract wording evaluation for company’s retrocession transactions.
-Support the development, implementation and operation of the claim management process.
-Support the Head of Corporate Actuarial across a broad scope of traditional actuarial work, including:
-Valuation: transition to BMA Economic Balance Sheet Framework; quarterly reserve movement analysis; embedded value analytics
-Capital Management: stress testing and quarterly BSCR capital modelling, CISSA capital model specification
-Asset Liability Management and Currency Risk Gap Analytics
-Develop and maintain a repository of AIA Re cashflows for the purposes of planning projections, CISSA, stress testing, ALM, EBS valuation, etc. 
-Annual Risk Based Regulatory Filings: actuarial inputs to the Capital & Solvency Return (BSCR, CISSA, FCR) 
-Alignment with BMA Insurance Code of Conduct requirements  
-Maintain ongoing comprehension of the BMA regulatory regime  
-Assess reasonableness of IFRS and Bermuda Statutory Financial Statements (including notes) 
-Quarterly Business Review: prepare trend analysis, trace performance to key drivers, and -contribute to variance analysis commentary 
-Prepare periodic treaty performance reports, compare and contrast to original pricing terms  
-Partner with Head of Finance to strengthen the budget model and streamlined with the CISSA baseline projection model
-Support the ongoing strengthening and documentation of internal control frameworks relating to actuarial processes
-Provide actuarial first line support to the risk management function, including:
-Full integration of the risk management framework into the operations (embed controls, define KRIs, compute risk appetite metrics as objective measures to adjudicate terms of risk acceptance) 
-Risk reporting inputs: risk aggregation (concentrations by Line of Business, geography, NAAR, credit exposure, etc.)
-Develop the Risk Register, Risk Self-Assessment inputs, Risk Profile, etc.
-Liquidity risk monitoring 
-In conjunction with cross-functional colleagues, support development of documentation establishing guidelines for conduct across the company’s geographic footprint and comply with said guidelines at all times 
-Work in collaboration with cross-functional colleagues to promote enhanced operational efficiency of the captive reinsurance model, including: reinsurance administrative systems, database development, efficient valuation systems, relevant and timely reinsurance reporting, etc. 
-Support the oversight and development of junior actuarial resources based in overseas service centres.

Qualifications:

-University Degree in numerate studies or business discipline 
-Actuarial Designation: FSA or equivalent  
-Minimum six years working in actuarial roles with demonstrated professional success and personal leadership 
-Life Reinsurance (preferably in the pricing discipline)
-Risk management (ideally direct experience in development of the ORSA/CISSA)
-Reserving (ideally economic framework) and EV experience
-Firm grasp of capital management concepts and evaluation of model output 
-Ability to trace treaty performance from financial reports and develop meaningful variance analysis 
-Strong comprehension of the BMA legislation for Long Term (re) insurers
-Some management experience or demonstrated management potential 
-Technically proficient in MS Office suite of products, notably Excel and PowerPoint Ability to translate concepts into visually appealing presentations 
-Harnesses complementary characteristics of a traditional actuarial skillset, strong personal leadership skills, and a results oriented, solution centric/”can do” attitude
-Demonstrates a client-focused approach to LBU engagements Impassioned to drive success of the internal reinsurance business model
-Commands a strong comprehension of the life insurance business and the value proposition of internal reinsurance 
-Self-starter Demonstrates thought leadership, initiative, innovation and problem solving skills
-Communicates effectively, both written and verbally. Direct, honest and open.  Collegial approach to conflict resolution
-Ability to create strong collaborative relationships across broad geographic reach and utilise network within Group Office and Business Units to execute responsibilities in coordinated fashion
-Strong work ethic, excellent organisational skills, and the faculty to act and get the job done. Is personally flexible, willing to travel and work outside of normal business hours, as require
-Ability to comprehend risk based legislation and interpret how it will manifest in required enhancements to the Company’s operations, notably in the areas of risk management, actuarial valuation and capital modelling
