-Responsible for analysis of risk including but not limited to global capital requirements from external and internal modeling perspectives and translation to account level; strategic use of capital; impact of key risks and possible mitigation strategies; and risk monitoring.
-Expansion and development of internal capital methodologies and models as well as ongoing maintenance, enhancement and validation of said methodologies and models. 
-Continual evaluation of external vendor tools to facilitate the capital modeling function.
-Strategic analysis including where necessary the impact of the company expansion opportunities, optimal business mix as they may impact the company’s various capital models. 
-Risk mitigation in quantifying key risk impacts and identifying risks and risk mitigation opportunities.
-Recommends capital enhancing solutions.
-May have the opportunity to participate as a member of the Enterprise Risk Management Committee.
-Collaborates across the organization in developing model inputs, validating model outputs and deploying quantitative-oriented risk models.
-Development, implementation and management of risk adjusted pricing models, including collaboration with pricing teams to facilitate the usage of such models. 
-Review and enhancement of pricing model parameterization and methodologies.
-Maintains knowledge base of the business as it pertains to this function.
-Makes best use of technologies in the performance of this function.


-Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics or actuarial science. 
-7-15 years’ experience working with financial and/or actuarial modeling tools and analysis Insurance/reinsurance experience preferred.
-Demonstrated experience utilizing analytical data modeling tools.
-Highly proficient software skills (Excel a must).
-Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills.
-Demonstrated success in the timely and quality implementation of organizational initiatives assigned.
-Works efficiently and independently. 
-Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other organizational disciplines and/or external consultants to accomplish team or group goals. 
-Effective communication skills with ability to communicate technical information to other disciplines. 
-Strong work ethic.
-Effective follow-through skills.
