-Carry out mandates of rate making and product reviews, including monitoring of the rate level adequacy,    improving rating segmentation and the competitive position of the portfolio.
-Carry out analyses of insurance issues or various business initiatives, propose appropriate solutions and support their implementation when required (i.e. pertaining to marketing problems/opportunities, product distribution, settlement of claims or other business decisions) using relevant data and analytical processes.
-Provide support to management of personal insurance products and/or operations.
-Identify the appropriate statistical methods to resolve different problems and develop predictive statistical models.
-Prepare filings documents/materials to acquire regulatory approval on proposed rate changes.
-Perform monitoring activities with a view to assess the quality of our insurance portfolio and following the rates, market share and insurance results of our competitors.
-Gather relevant data & metrics analyze and interpret trends and provide commentary and insight to the various business analysis requests received from business partners.
-Act as a coach and mentor to more junior analysts within the team.


-Post-secondary education (University degree) in Actuarial Science or equivalent.
-Completion of a minimum of 5 Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) or equivalent Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams. 
-The candidate has at least 3 years of Actuarial experience.
-Understanding of actuarial concepts.
-Understanding of general insurance products and business processes.
-Ability to understand SAS or other programming language and database structures, for data analysis purposes. 
-Strong written and oral communication skills, focusing on being able to influence collaborators.
-Proficient with computer systems (i.e.: MS Word, Excel, SAS, Emblem, Radar, etc.).

-Ability to take action to resolve problems, identify and raise opportunities and address issues before they become problems 
-Ability to interact professionally with all levels of management including senior management, internal -departments, and other business partners.
